What’s on in London: June 2021

Summer is finally upon us! Restrictions are starting to ease across the capital and temperatures are on the rise, things are certainly looking up and we love to see life return to normal. London Fashion Week – 12 June to 14 June

London Fashion Week is back! Following the success of the virtual event in 2020, London Fashion Week will also be held online this year meaning you can sit back and enjoy the show from home! The two-day event will focus on minimising travel to make fashion more sustainable as well as making the show less reliant on gender norms, featuring a series of catwalk shows, online interviews, podcast episodes and more. Grab a ticket to your front row seat and get ready to enjoy the best talent today’s fashion world has to offer.

 

David Hockney: The Arrival of Spring, Normandy, 2020 – 23 May to 26 September

Head to The Royal Academy this month for its latest exhibition which features works from David Hockney as he captured the unfolding of spring on his iPad during the midst of the pandemic. The 116 colourful works of landscapes, still-lives and nature studies are a perfect reminder of the beauty of spring. For any artists wondering what’s on in London, this isn’t one to be missed.

 

Eileen Agar – Angel of Anarchy –19 May to 29 August

British painter and photographer, Eileen Agar was one of the most famous artists to be associated with the surrealist movement and today the largest exhibition of her work is being shown at the Whitechapel Gallery. It features over 100 paintings, collages, photographs, assemblages, and archive material, all of which perfectly showcase Agar’s fascination with classical art, the natural world and sexual pleasure.
