On Tuesday 29 October, London College of Contemporary Arts (LCCA) hosted a guest speaker event, which provided an insight into hospitality management with Doris Woehnl, Director of Revenue, at the prestigious Rosewood London hotel.

During the event, Doris delivered an in-depth presentation on revenue management within a five-star establishment and discussed the importance of leadership skills, decision-making, revenue forecasting and stakeholder relationships.

Students also learnt about what the role of a Director of Revenue entails with real-life examples and advice on how to be successful in this field.

BA Hospitality student, Emily Brown, said: “I have learned a lot about how to become a revenue manager and what a hotel has to do to gain more revenue.”

Overall, the guest speaker event had a great turn-out. Carmen Andreica, Careers and Student Services Manager at LCCA, said: “Doris Woehnl’s presentation has been very insightful, inspiring and motivating and well-received by students. They have taken away from the event a lot of food for thought and it overall helped them broaden their horizons.”
