Students attended a Q&A session with Jesus Alvarez Paz, PR and Marketing Communications Consultant.
Jesus Alvarez Paz has a vast PR and marketing experience in top tier hospitality and fashion brands. His work involves implementing public image campaigns and communications programmes. His other areas of expertise are people management, brand management and consumer behaviour.
He has worked across UK, Spain and Thailand and his previous roles include Head of Guest Experience at The Curtain Hotel and PR Consultant for Heaven Bangkok Central Retail Corporation in Thailand, leading international PR and media activities for all their restaurants in the region.
Jesus Alvarez Paz spoke to students about what is like to work in PR and marketing, what skills are required to be successful in this area, how the role interrelates with other departments and what challenges there are. He has also advised students on what are the most important general traits employers look for in their staff and potential career progression pathways.
In attendance there where students interested in following a career in PR and marketing, as well as others interested in starting their own business. They were all thrilled to receive useful information, ideas and tips from the guest.
