We are looking for a number of highly motivated and inspirational individuals to join our School of Visual Media BA and HNC/D teaching team. You should be experienced in one or more of the following subject areas with creativity, skill, enthusiasm and experience to contribute to the delivery of this exciting creative school.

You will have experience of contemporary creative practice and be able to work across both analogue and digital formats. You must be able to communicate a broad range of practical and theoretical issues through hands on teaching, lectures and seminars. You must be able to inspire and motivate students. Experience of academic and administrative management is desirable.

You will have a good honours degree, recent experience of HE teaching, and detailed knowledge of contemporary practice within one or more subject areas.

Position:

Technical Demonstrator

Technical Demonstrators work within courses to support the students in understanding and the use of production equipment and materials, and specialist techniques to achieve specified results and procedures using specialist equipment. They also have a key role in equipment and studio maintenance, the delivery of student inductions in respect of equipment, including monitoring the area’s health and safety, supporting course teams in knowledge transfer and a variety of other tasks to ensure a high quality and safe student learning experience.

This post requires an adaptable person with the ability to inform students’ learning with clear and concise inductions and demonstrations that enable students to progress through their course with confidence and achieve to the best of their abilities. The post holder must be able to demonstrate to industry standard in order to ensure that students graduating from the course commence employment with extensive knowledge required by the creative industries.

Curriculum Standards Manager

Are you an experienced curriculum manager or quality manager within a Higher Education setting or have you been associated with higher education within a Further Education setting? If you have a keen interest in leading on standards improvement and associated quality aspects, and in working with an enthusiastic team to identify curriculum development opportunities, then we would very much like to hear from you.

Located in Holborn in the City of London, we are an entrepreneurial college that is keen on expansion and development through innovation and creativity.

You would have responsibility for leading on the management and development of strategies to support and enhance curriculum standards across a range of creative industries and business related provision. You will work closely with the Academic Director and Heads of School as well as Course Managers and other departments, to develop and implement improvement strategies, based on feedback from external examiners, students and partnership offices. You will work with provision ranging from level 3 and foundation provision, to undergraduate and post-graduate provision, and CPD provision.

Your ability to inspire, together with your thorough knowledge of the QAA Framework for Higher Education Qualifications, Codes of Practice and relevant Subject and Qualification Benchmarks, will be germane to your success in the role. And, of course, we hope you’ll also share our passion for the creative arts and the exciting programmes we deliver in the areas of fashion, graphic design, photography and business and hospitality.

Main purpose of the role

Responsible for: Monitoring quality compliance and leading quality and standards improvement along with identifying curriculum development opportunities to maximise effectiveness of the College.

To lead on the standards and quality assurance of the curriculum, across the College. The post holder will work closely with the Academic Director and all managers across the Schools to ensure that the improvement strategies for each programme based on external feedback and internal review are being carried out and are effective. This will apply to level 3 and foundation provision, undergraduate and post-graduate provision, along with monitoring of short courses and CPD provision.

The Curriculum Standards Manager will have an overview of the quality management of provision, and will develop a quality improvement and enhancement plan based on information received from external verifiers, subject specialists, awarding bodies and internal student satisfaction surveys.
