As the evenings get longer and temperatures start to drop, make sure not to stay cooped up this November! Grab your woolly jumpers and head out to watch London come alive with Christmas lights, music and firework displays.

There’s plenty going on around the capital this month, but here is our top pick of events:

EFG London Jazz Festival - 16 November to 25 November

This yearly festival gathers talent from across the world for a 10-day celebration of jazz. Various performances will be taking place throughout London, from headline concerts at the Barbican to more intimate gigs at smaller spaces such as King’s Place. Music fans, this is the perfect event for you!

Christmas at Kew - Until January 2019

Returning for its eighth year, Kew Gardens will light up against the night sky. The gardens will be filled with over a million festive pea-lights and will feature a Cathedral of Lights, as well as 300 glowing origami boats on Kew’s glistening lake. If you are interested, make sure to book in advance on the Kew Gardens Website.

Lord Mayor’s show – 10 November

Head anywhere between Bank and Aldwych for your chance to see a three-mile procession of marching bands, floats and dancers. The 800-year old event celebrates the election of the new Lord Mayor of the City of London – not to be confused with the Mayor of London! – with a mix of modern festivities and traditional ceremonies parading through the city.

Pinter at the Pinter- Until February 2019

Don’t miss the chance to see playwright Harold Pinter’s shorts plays being performed by legendary actors at the Harold Pinter Theatre in Soho. Guest stars will include Martin Freeman, Tamsin Greig and Pinter’s own former student, Danny Dyer.
