By providing high-quality careers information, education and guidance, the Careers and Employability Service at the LCCA endeavours to empower students to make informed career decisions and develop lifelong career management skills.
We support our students by enhancing their career development goals and helping them pursue employment opportunities. Our services are available to all LCCA students throughout their studies and after graduation. These include:
Undertaking an internship during your studies is a great way to make contacts in the industry and find out more about the sector you are interested in. Internships are also a useful addition to your CV. We support students and graduates in finding internships and jobs in the creative industries. We offer you a wealth of opportunities by advertising jobs, organizing triannual on-campus job fairs, and connecting you with a variety of employers. Career support is also available to help you with the application process.
We are inundated with opportunities to enter and participate in competitions and live briefs with commercial partners. Live briefs are a great opportunity to showcase your talent and build relationships with potential employers. It also ensures you have exposure to the commercial world, which will be beneficial when starting your first creative role.
We invite lecturers from across the creative and commercial world to ensure that your learning experience is enriched with different perspectives. This allows LCCA to remain relevant to the needs of the creative industries.
Our career training and development programme is available throughout the year and all students are encouraged to participate. The programme focuses on developing students’ skills in areas such as: career planning, job search strategies, CV and cover letter writing, interviewing techniques, personal branding, and more.
As a provider of higher education it is important we make your transition into employability as easy as possible. We provide up-to-date careers information and personalised support to help you make decisions and plan your career effectively.
You can book an appointment with our careers department by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. If you need advice but cannot visit us, you can get support via email.
We provide ongoing support to graduates through career guidance, networking events, job opportunities, and discounted further studies. We also offer graduates the opportunity to play an active role in the college, by volunteering, donating, delivering presentations, or recruiting current students.
