WHAT IS UCAS CLEARING?

Clearing is how universities fill any remaining places they have on their courses. From Monday 6 July to Tuesday 20 October, you can apply for a course using Clearing if you don’t already have an offer from a university and if the course still has places. Clearing isn’t just for A-Level students - you can be a BTEC, IB, Access, mature or international student and still apply.

Do ensure that you apply as early as you can. Clearing is an excellent option as on the day you get in touch with us, we may be able to offer you a place on one of our courses and will discuss your options in detail. If you've met and exceeded the conditions of your firm choice and you've changed your mind about where or what you want to study, you can also apply for a new course through a process called Adjustment.

WHAT IS UCAS ADJUSTMENT?

Both Clearing and Adjustment give you another chance to find the best course for you – just in slightly different ways. The main difference is that Adjustment allows you to apply for alternative courses that have higher entry requirements, without risking your unconditional offer. So, if you’ve already secured a place at your firm choice university, but are reconsidering where or what you want to study, and are interested in a course at LCCA, you can still apply here – as long as you have met and exceeded the conditions of your original offer.

ADJUSTMENT 2020

UCAS Adjustment 2020 is available from A-Level results day – Thursday 13 August to Monday 31 August. It’s entirely optional, and it’s important to note that most competitive courses will be full, however, other applicants might have missed their conditions or swapped their course too, so it’s always worth checking what’s available.

AM I ELIGIBLE FOR CLEARING?

You can apply for Clearing courses if:

  • You’re applying after Tuesday 30 June
  • You didn’t receive any offers (or none you want to accept)
  • You didn’t meet the conditions of your offers
  • You’ve changed your mind about where and what you want to study
HOW DO I APPLY FOR CLEARING?

To apply to one of our fast-track degree courses, call our hotline on 020 3750 3832 (open Monday to Friday - 9am – 5:30pm) with your qualifications or predicted grades.

HOW DOES CLEARING WORK?

You can take a look at which of our courses are available via Clearing by looking at our website and also at UCAS.com. If you are in Clearing, your status in UCAS Track will reflect this.

Once you’ve found the ideal course, get in touch with us to discuss your options and get a provisional offer. Make sure you have your UCAS Personal ID on you and your exam results when you call us.

HOW DOES LCCA'S CLEARING PROCESS WORK?

When you call us, one of our programme consultants will explain the course options available and assist you with completing your application form. You will then receive an email confirmation of your provisional offer within hours of speaking to us.

Once you have referred yourself to LCCA, we will process your application. Please bear in mind that we will be extremely busy as we have a lot of applicants interested in our courses, so it might take some time before we manage to confirm your place, however, we will work through the weekend to try and get your place confirmed as quickly as possible.

Once we have confirmed your offer, we will update you and you will receive a formal offer email and letter from us - you can then apply for your accommodation. If you are applying for student finance, please contact your finance organisation to let them know about your new course details.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I'VE BEEN OFFERED A PLACE IN CLEARING?

You should receive an email confirmation of your provisional offer within a few hours of speaking to us

Once you have referred yourself to LCCA on UCAS, we will process your application. Please note that during this time we are extremely busy, but we will do our best to get this processed for you as soon as possible and confirm your place with us.

Once we have confirmed your email, please wait for an email with all the details. You will then be able to apply for accommodation.

Please also contact student finance and let them know that you will now be joining LCCA and provide course details.
