HEALTH AND WELLBEING
At LCCA, our students remain at the forefront of everything we do. We recognise that taking your first steps into artistic industries can be stressful and tiring, and we provide ongoing support to help any student who may be feeling stressed during their studies at LCCA should they feel they need it.
Our Student Counselling Service (SCS) are on hand to offer their support and guidance to any student who feels that their studies (or other aspects of their life) are being negatively affected by the stress of taking a degree.
Our counsellors are dedicated professionals, committed to improving the wellbeing of LCCA students. Sessions are held in a comfortable, calm environment in which students can discuss any issues which may be causing them concern. One of our counsellors will work to identify issues and advise on resolutions.
This counselling service is free of charge to all LCCA students.
STUDENT ADVICE SERVICE
Our Student Advice Service offers information and advice on a wide range of practical issues relating to student life ranging from student loans and bank accounts to immigration status and medical registration. Information and advice is also provided in the student handbook which is given to all new students when they begin their course.
Student representatives are elected by the student body at the beginning of each academic year and are normally the first point of reference for any queries or issues raised by the students. The role of student representatives is voluntary; each course must have one, and any student can put themselves forward for the election.
Our student representatives play a central role in facilitating the communication between LCCA students and staff, including both lecturers and the management. The institution of student representatives is important because they ensure that views, concerns and feedback from students are taken into consideration by the management.
At LCCA we ensure that all our students are best prepared for a successful career in their chosen profession. We strive to develop creative talent, opening minds and exploring individuals’ potential. We are also very focused on the importance of maximising student employability, so we ensure that our courses give you all the necessary skills, knowledge and experience valued by employers.
