OVERVIEW

The HND in Interactive Media enables designers, animators, moving -image artists and digital media professionals to explore and create visual communication and multi-media content for a variety of digital platforms such as TV, CGI for games and animation, game design for the web, I pad and mobile devices and interactive content for web design. Due to the fast pace of technological change, today's designers are expected to produce a broad spectrum of creative, interactive content for multiple devices and understand the importance of strategic communication and branding for target audiences. Using animation techniques, 3D modelling, film, sound and editing, interface design, graphics and programming you will learn the skills to plan and create motion graphics, design and animate games, build 3D environments, create interactive websites and presentations for social media.

 

COURSE OBJECTIVE

Our goal is to provide you with the focused knowledge and understanding of digital production needed to qualify for entry-level, industry positions.  This qualification has been designed to develop the skills, knowledge and experience required for progression directly into a creative career in interactive design, website design, 3D modelling or digital graphic design and  illustration. Students can also progress into further education through professional qualifications, undergraduate or postgraduate degrees. - may choose to progress onto higher education through undergraduate or postgraduate degrees and professional qualifications.

In addition to technical proficiency and creative development, your education will help you develop critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills that contribute to life learning, providing you with tools to help sustain a long and productive professional career within your chosen industry.

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum age: 18 years old
  • Qualification: Full secondary education. Minimum 4 GCSE's (Grade C or above). Minimum of 2 A levels (no less than grade D) for UK applicants or any NARIC recognised equivalence
  • Language: English proficiency: IELTS 5.5 (min. 5.0 in each component), PTE 51 (min. 51 in each component), TOEFL (IBT) 87 (min. L-21, R-22, S-23, W-21)
  • Alternative: Mature students (over 21) are accepted, subject to professional references, significant work experience and a strong personal statement

 

PROGRESSION

This qualification has been designed to develop the skills, knowledge and experience required for progression directly into a creative career in  interactive design, website design, 3D modelling or  digital graphic design and  illustration. Students can also progress into further education through professional qualifications, undergraduate or postgraduate degrees.
