On Friday August 11, we partnered with Champneys Beauty College London to host a beauty blogger event. There were many attendees from all around the country, they all enjoyed the chance to explore the college and find out more about Champneys and its partners.

Bloggers were greeted by our friendly team and welcomed with prosecco and nibbles. They then had free reign to look around the building where they could browse the Champneys treatment facilities, beauty products, and classrooms. Along the way they had the chance to speak to our staff and ask any questions, as well as networking with each other.

The main event was a ’10 Minute Makeup’ demo presented by Rachel Halling, Principle of Champneys, and demonstrated by Caroline Hand, Curriculum Manager at the college. Rachel and Caroline took everyone through the makeup demo, and shared some tips they’d picked up themselves from their time in the industry. They also gave the bloggers some insights into the programmes on offer there, and explained what they could learn.

Some of the tricks they shared included ideas on how to thin your makeup brush stash, using a product called makeup blend to make your powders last longer, and using lip stain instead of lipstick if you want your makeup to stay on.  Bloggers received a goody bag with complimentary Champneys products, so they could go away and try some for themselves.

The attendees learned about the courses on offer, which range from Nail Technology to Fashion and Media Makeup. Trained by experts in the industry, students will be introduced to basic skills whilst also developing personal qualities, all essential to becoming well-rounded professionals ready to step into the workplace.

All in all it was a successful day. Bloggers and staff alike had a great time, and learnt a lot.
